The College Board welcomes Ed Klotzbier, who has recently been appointed regional vice president for the New England Regional Office. In this role, he will oversee the College Board’s educational programs and services for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. An administrator and educator, Klotzbier most recently served as vice president for student affairs at Northeastern University, where he worked for the past 10 years on the transformation of Northeastern to a modern and diverse residential campus community and focused on strategies around student success and retention.
“Ed is deeply committed to our core values of equity and access,” said Andrea Mainelli, senior vice president for region and account services at the College Board. “In this leadership role, Ed will also bring fresh perspectives and engagement to our membership across K–12 and higher education.”
Massachusetts Teacher Among Winners of the Bob Costas Grants for the Teaching of Writing

Dianne Traynor, who teaches in Lawrence, Mass., is among six teachers who were awarded one of the seventh annual College Board Bob Costas Grants for the Teaching of Writing, which recognize exceptional teachers for using innovative methods to inspire their students to write. The award was created to support teachers and to thank Bob Costas, the Emmy Award–winning broadcaster and author, for his generous public service work on behalf of the National Commission on Writing. Each winner receives a grant of $3,000 to support her or his innovative work.
